Since I've gone back to school, we've been traveling far less, which is probably the hardest thing about school. However, the nice thing about being in school is Spring Break, because you pretty much have to go somewhere. It's our only chance to get away until summer (which always feels so far away here in Seattle).
This year we took a short trip to Los Cabos, Mexico and unlike most of our trips, didn't do much of anything but relax, eat, read, and explore along the beach. It was the first time I've gone on a trip without my laptop, plus we had no internet access at our resort, so we were really disconnected and slowed down. We enjoyed our early bedtime and early mornings-- so hard to do at home. After a crazy week of finals and spending the night in the library at school, it was exactly what we needed.
Here's a glimpse of our week in sunny Mexico.

We made breakfast in our room every morning and ate on the patio.
Came home with lots of new portraits. Thanks, Yuriy!
I think we fit in some pool-side reading every single day. This is the good life!
Whales!! These were taken from the beach with an 85mm, then super cropped. I can't even imagine how majestic the view was from that boat!
Had to do a bit of rock climbing to get to this tiny secluded beach. We were the only ones there.
Just stunning. Good luck with the next semester!
ReplyDeleteLovely photos as always! It also sounds like an amazing opportunity to fully relax and disconnect even if only for a little bit.
