Aussie Road Trip Continued

Tuesday, April 10, 2012

It took awhile to get used to driving on the "wrong" side of the road and driving in the "passenger" seat but once I got that figured out, we were all set.

We passed a lot of small towns stuck in the past, each with their own character. In between the random towns, we passed hills, farms, and beaches. We pulled over whenever we found an interesting spot, set out our little table and chairs, prepared a meal in the middle of nowhere, and enjoyed the view. Now I know how the retirees feel when they go traveling in RV's around the United States. We can't wait to do something like this back home.

- Yuriy

An empty beach and an ocean spotted with surfers. Good place to pull over.
And good place to make some sandwiches.
This is the life.
We spotted some llamas on the side of the road and used it as an opportunity to stretch our legs.

  1. road trips are fun especially when you have a sweet van with a pull out tray for easy lunch making.

    1. Kristina - That's how it always is! I feel the same about Seattle and the PNW, even though it's one of the most beautiful places on Earth. Road trips are good for it...

    1. Jill - We looked around and it seemed to be the best deal. The camper van had everything we needed and the service was great. We were able to pick it up in Sydney and drop off in Melbourne without paying a fee.

  9. You guys, these pictures are beautiful! I too can't wait to just travel around in my classic 1954 VW (my dream car) with my friends. I really liked how you guys just stopped on the side of the road to make sandwiches and just sat and watched the ocean. How refreshing!
